As you know The Office of Instructional Technology is offering several classes this summer to support our school in enhancing teaching and learning with 21st Century tools. You can register for classes at ProTraxx (http://pd.nycoit.org) by selecting your subject in the “Title” field and iTeach/iLearn in the “Department” field. You can see a listing of all classes by going to advanced search and selecting the iTeach/iLearn department. For an overview of classes you can download the Summer Classes 2008 flyer.pub / summer classes flyer.pdf. You can see a listing of all classes by subject area and date at Summer Classes 2008.xls. You can see what classes are recommended by visiting your PD Prescription which indicates recommended classes based on length of time in the iTeach/iLearn program.
Classes will take place at The Young Women’s Leadership School (105 East 106th Street in Manhattan) during the weeks of August 4th, 11th, and 18th from 9:00 – 1:00 and teachers from iTiL schools will receive training rate for attending classes. You must enroll in these classes prior to the last day of school to secure a seat. Classes without a minimum number of participants by June 26 will be canceled. IMPORTANT NOTE: Summer 2008 will be your last opportunity to take classes funded by the Office of Instructional Technology. You must show up for any class in which you enroll. If you choose not to take a class you must withdraw from the class prior. This is important because classes are scheduled and our budget is contingent upon your enrollment. If you do not show up for a class in which you are enrolled, a letter will be sent to your principal informing him/her of your failure to attend the class. If you’d like to learn more about these classes, receive suggestions on which classes to take, or need assistance registering for classes, please email me or let me know when you would like me to assist you in person.
